Who we are
The people who'd do the work.
DemDevs is a network of volunteer engineers, matched to projects by what the problem actually needs. Below: two of the developers currently taking work.
Developer spotlight

Bookis Worthy
Twenty years in software, and CTO of five startups.
For the last six months he has volunteered on Democratic campaigns. DemDevs is what that turned into.

Brooke Graham
Over a decade in software, on the hard end of interface work: tools complex enough to need care, and accessible enough that everyone can actually use them.
Product engineering, and leading the teams that ship it.

If you write software and want to point it at races that can use it, we want to hear from you. Data engineering and backend work are the most requested and the least available.
Email hello@demdevs.com with what you work on and roughly how much time you have. What is useful, and three rules that are not negotiable.
Why nobody is paid
Uncompensated work by an individual is not a campaign contribution under federal law, which is what makes it legal to hand a candidate real software for nothing. The moment money changes hands, it becomes a contribution and a filing obligation for you.
So there is no invoice now and there will not be one later, and we never put our money into your race. The full explanation.
What this is not, yet
- Not a portfolio of campaign work. The projects on this site are examples of what we build, not case studies. Judge the code, the specificity of what we build, and a conversation.
- Not an organization. No entity, no board, no staff, no bank account. DemDevs is a name for a group of individuals, and the footer of every page says so because it matters.
- Not unlimited. Capacity is the hours the network can hold together. No amount of money changes that.
